Tryouts
West Side Soccer League holds open tryouts for its travel teams once a year between Memorial Day and the end of June. Any player may participate whether they are currently playing in West Side Soccer League's Core, Tournament or Travel programs or in another program. Tryout dates will be posted on the League's calendar.
Players interested in trying out must pre-register for the tryout in order to let the League know how many players to expect in each tryout session. Pre-registration will open in May of each year. Notification of pre-resgistration for tryouts will be made through West Side Soccer League as well as through various media outlets in the New York area. Participants in tryouts will be required to complete various paperwork that will provide them with insurance during the tryout process and that will provide proof of age and identification.
Official registration for travel team play takes place following the tryouts and before July 15. Players who are selected to play on a West Side Red Bulls team are committed to the team for a year -- including Fall and Spring seasons.
West Side Soccer League's Travel Program honors and respects the teams of other area clubs and will not accept any mid-season transfers, unless agreed upon by both organization's leadership. If you would like to join a West Side Soccer League Travel Team, the best way to do it is through the annual tryout process.
Fall 2013 Travel Tryout Schedule
Monday through Friday, June 3 to 7 and Monday, June 10. All tryouts will take place on 101st Street Field in Riverside Park. There will be three tryout sessions per day. You will receive an email confirming your time one week prior to tryouts. Call backs will be arranged as needed for players in U9 to U12 only. Information on call backs will be provided to you immediately after the initial tryout.
