Development Academy

The Development Academy is currently on pause. We will update this page when we have an update.

The Development Academy (DA) curriculum follows the same RED BULLS CURRICULUM used by the Red Bulls to train our Travel teams.

WSSL's Development Academy is offered for players in U6 to U14. The structure of the Development Academy Program is as follows:

  • Players receive one training session each week with NY Red Bulls trainers for a minimum of seven sessions (10 sessions in Winter).
  • Each session is 60 minutes long and conducted in an indoor UWS facility.
  • Each session is limited to 12-15 players with multiple sessions per age group based on demand.
  • Players commit to the DA program in addition to weekly Core teams, training and games.
  • DA is open to all WSSL core, tournament and travel players. DA is available to non-WSSL players on a space available basis subject to payment of an AYSO membership fee in addition to the DA fees.
  • The cost of DA is $275 per player per session for fall and spring and $400-$500 per session for winter.

BLACKOUT DATES:

Each facility that we use has some black out dates relating to school activities and holidays. We have done our best to give each group a contiguous schedule, but there are exceptions. They are noted on the event sign up page and below in the schedule in red. Please make a note of these dates. Some changes may involve substitute locations or they may involve a time change. Players should try to make it but can also attend another session for their age group that week.

MAKE-UP POLICY:

Players that miss a session may, with permission by emailing commissioner@wssl.org, take a make-up at any other time during the same week in a similar age session. We ask that you first email so that no session becomes overcrowded. This includes make-ups for sessions held on religious holidays and Halloween. Players are limited to two make-ups during each season.
